Borland has extended and expanded their Open Tools contest. Previously this contest was only open to C#Builder-coders, but the contest has been expanded to Delphi8-submissions as well.

The thing to build is a “must-have” add-on for C#Builder or Delphi8 in their Open Tools API.

You can submit your entry until June 30th, 2004, and you can win a Tablet PC!

Click on the link in the title to find out more about the contest, entering submissions and rules.

Another update to OUAU, now version 1.0.5.0.

Changes:

  • Detection of Office 2000
  • Detection of Office 2002/XP
  • Detection of Office 2003

To do:

  • When user selects an Office version other than detected, modify the correct registry-entries, instead of detected version
  • Close the application when unsupported Office version is detected (detection and errormessage is already in place)

Microsoft must have gone bonkers! After opening up the source to WiX, they are now giving away the commandline tools for Visual C++. How about that?

It’s not new, but I ran accross SnippetCompiler. A little stand-alone .NET editor that enables you to test Snippets (doh!) without starting VS.NET or something big like that.

If you still use the .NET FrameWork v1.0 you need to download an extra config-file, but that’s all.

It works like a charm, even here in an environment where the C:-drive is protected. Just unzip it in a directory, start SnippetCompiler.exe and you’re good to go!

The authors weblog can be found here.

I’ve just discovered (by accident: my hand was resting on the CTRL key) that you can change the Textsize in Internet Explorer by holding the CTRL key and using the scrollwheel on your mouse. Very nice.

Why can’t I get the damned style-tag Filter working in B2Evolution. Very frustrating! The creator of .Text-skin HaBaHaBa uses it in his blogtitle, and that looks very neat. But why doesn’t it work with b2e. *sign* I don’t know.

Al blog-lezend kwam ik Process Explorer van Sysinternals tegen. Een FREEWARE tool dat je kunt gebruiken als vervanger van TaskManager. Zeker voor de programmeurs onder ons is dit een must. Go get it!
