I thought my system was fast since I had installed the AMD 64 X2 6000+. This thing has a dual-core at 3GHz (hence the 6000+). And indeed the system was a lot faster than my &#8220;old&#8221; Pentium4 2.66GHz. I just installed the <code>cpufrequtils<\/code> package. It turns out that cpufreq-info reveals that both CPU&#8217;s ran at 1GHz. So I changed that to 3GHz.
